Winter Has Arrived

So this morning I looked out the window and what did I see NOT pop corn popping on the apricot tree, I saw SNOW. Yes I'm sad to say that winter has arrived here in Logan, Utah. I knew we were going to have a little snow today, yes deep down I really did want it to snow but if any of you really know me know that I don't like snow. I like it in the mountains but not on the ground here I have to see it up close. I love the mountains around Logan they are filled with snow and I love it. I guess i'll just have to live with the snow now that i'm sure we will be getting more of it...

Happy Snow Time everyone!

Thanksgiving Weekend!

I have to admit I had one great weekend. Friday after thanksgiving we had a girls night out. It was me along with my awesome sister in laws, Jen, Kala, Trina and Tawna. We all met up for dinner at Bluebird, my mother in law joined us for dinner and surprised us all and paid for our dinner. We had a great time at dinner sharing stories and laughing a lot, I had a great time. After dinner we headed out to see Twilight. I was never big into the whole Twilight stuff until I saw the movie. And yes yours truely is a Twilight fan. I came home that night and told Cody that I had to read the book and he sighed at me, because he knows i'm not much of a reader but I have to read these books. While watching the movie it made me miss Washington. Seeing all that pretty greenery and the gloomy weather. What can I say i'm a true Washington girl at heart and yes I love a good gloomy weather day! So I just want to thank my sister in laws for getting me hooked I am soo happy we went to go see the movie together! We will have to make this a tradition to have a girls night out whenever we are able to get together!

The next day saturday Cody and I were able to go on a date! Its not all that often the two of us get to go out and enjoy a day together! I've been wanting to go to this all you can eat Chinese restaurant here in town. They have an awesome Mongolian grill. So we headed out to lunch and left really stuffed and then we went to go see Four Christmases. That was a really cute movie and I was thankful that Cody went with me to go see it!

I had an awesome weekend and I hope everyone has a great holiday season!!!!

Way Good!!

This afternoon we family dinner at Mick and Jens house. We were celebrating Tabbi's belated birthday. Now we don't get to see Tabbi all that often since she lives out east in Virginia. It was nice being together with family today. Now when it comes to our birthday dinner my mother in law lets us pick out the menu and such. And Tabbi picked out a huge winner it was soo good. She found the recipe on a blog called Pioneer Woman. I was curious so I went and took a look. She has lots of yummie recipes. So I just wanted to share the yummie goodness we had this afternoon Apple Dumplings.
I did not make this yummie dessert my amazing mother in law made this!

My Awseome Birthday Present

I have to say Cody does an awesome every year for my birthday since we have met. I can pretty much name every present he has gotten me over the last 4 hours and he does so good! This year he asked me what I wanted and I told him I wanted a KitchenAid mixer. I really didn't think he would get it for me. For the last few weeks he would tease me and tell me he was getting me a big screen tv. I kept thinking why on earth would he get me a big screen I would rather have a mixer. The last month or so i've been going crazy baking on my days off when ever those actually happen. So when I got home on wednesday sitting on the counter was this big box. I was so excited I put down all my stuff and started opening it! I was so dang happy to see that it was in deed a KitchenAid mixer!!! I was like a little girl in a candy store I couldn't wait to get it out of the box. I was even more excited to use it. So today being saturday I actually had the day off. I ended up making a Gooey Butter Cake. Its one of the few desserts that I make that Cody will eat. So since he was so good to me and got me my KitchenAid mixer I figured I could make a dessert that he likes!! I have to say that I have the best husband in the world he treats me so good!!! I love you lots Cody!

I got the recipe for the Gooey Butter cake from Paula Dean. I just love her she is amazing. Here is the recipe for you! http://www.pauladeen.com/recipe_view/795

Happy Early Birthday To Me

I've been wanting to get my hair cut and colored for some time now. I figured with my birthday coming up I would just give myself a present. I'm turning 29 and I wanted to do something fun and live it up! So this morning I went and did it. I cut my hair and had it high lighted! I had one of the best stylist ever besides my sister in law. He was awesome and of course I'll be going back now to have him do my hair again! So here are some pics of my awesome hair cut.

Happy October

So I know i'm a few days off but I just wanted to say Happy October! October is my favorite month ever! I love fall and watching the color of leaves change. I have to say I miss Washington most this time of year because of all the pretty colors! I have to say I was pretty spoiled to have grown up in such a pretty place. Living where I do now just doesn't feel much like fall because we are still having warm weather but I just keeping picturing in my mind all the pretty colors back home! But I have to say I love October most because it is the month of my birthday! I am turning 29 this year. Now I am the only kid in my family still in my 20's so i'm going to live it up!

I baked yet again!

So don't fall over laughing but I did bake again. I think i'm turning into a really domestic wife. Last night I made Peach Cobbler with fresh peaches. We got peaches from Mick and Jen. I was really excited so I called my mom up and asked for her recipe for peach cobbler. I remember having cobbler a lot growing up. We would have all kinds of cobblers from cherry to blackberry to peach! They were all super yummie. So after Cody and I had dinner last night I started baking and found this recipe to be super easy! I'm finding that I love to bake now. So every weekend I get off i'm going to try to bake something new! So here is that yummie recipe for peach cobbler.

Peach Cobbler

1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
4 cups sliced peaches (about 6 medium) sometimes I put in extra
1 teaspoon lemon juice

3 tablespoons shortening (I never have this one so I would use butter)
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk

Heat oven to 400 degrees
Mix 1/2 cup sugar, the cornstarch and cinnamon in 2-quart saucepan. Stir in peaches and lemon juice. Cook stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Pour into ungreased 2-quart casserole; keep peach mixture hot in oven. (I don't always do this)

Cut shortening into flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, the baking powder and salt until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in milk. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto hot peach mixture.

Bake until topping is golden brown, 25-30 minutes. Serve warm and, if desired, with whipped cream or ice cream.

Scentsy Need I Say More!

My new found love now is Scentsy. I found about it a while ago from my sister Shawna. She was having a party and had me check it out online but I didn't have the money to get into it. So I kinda forgot about it and went on until the end of may when Cody and I were at our friends house in Arizona and Heathers kitchen was smelling really yummie. So I asked her what it was and she showed me all her scentsy stuff. I couldn't wait to come home and get my own. It took me a while till I found someone who sold it. I am so happy that I now have my own and I love it love it love
it! I ended up getting two warmers. I figured I needed one for the kitchen and the front room. They are so awesome and the scents are so yummie! I love it! Thanks Elisa for selling scensty. I'm sure i'll be buying up more scents in the near future!

I'm So Domesticated!!

On Labor day my sister in law Jen brought over some yummie Zucchini that she grew in her garden. I've never made Zucchini bread until today! I was feeling in the mood to bake which rarely ever happens because I work so much I never have time to be in the kitchen. So I pulled out my mother in laws recipe and went to town. I had fun making it. I was even more excited for Cody to try it. Well it passed the approval of Cody so I guess I can bake! I told Cody that I needed a new mixer and a mixing bowl. So lets hope in the near future i'll be getting a kitchen aide mixer! A girl can wish right??

One Fabulous Spring/Summer

I just have to say I've had one of the best spring/summers ever! It started out in May when my sister Shawna and my niece Jenna, my brother Adam his wife Bridgette and my 2 nephews Adam and Lukus came to spend a few days with Cody and I. I had a great time seeing them. It had been about 9 months since I had seen them. Then a few weeks after that Cody and I finally took our honeymoon. I know it was 3 years late but better late then never right? We well Cody drove us to California! We spent a few days at Disneyland and California Adventure. It was awesome to be able to go on a real vacation with my husband! I am a huge Disney Fan. I love pretty much anything Mickey Mouse. So it was a fun time being able to be in one of my favorite places ever! While in Cali I was able to meet a good friend of Cody's from the Army. After our California fun in the sun we headed to Arizona to spend a few days with an old Mission companion of Cody's. I love meeting friends of Cody's. So our spring was pretty adventurous. So after returning from our vacation I started a new job I have been there for 3 months now and I love it! Our summer has been pretty busy. We have been working A LOT and when I say a lot I mean a lot! August my mom and my sister Susan and my 2 nieces Kourtney and Sierra came for a visit! It had been a year since I had seen my sister or my nieces! So I was pretty excited to see them! My parents came to visit last October so I was also very excited to see my mom again! I'm a huge family buff I love seeing my family! So I thought I'd just share that I've had ONE fabulous spring/summer! I hope that Cody and I have another great summer next year!

Thank Goodness For Candles

I really have to say thank goodness for candles. Last night we were having severe lightening storms and it was pretty dang windy. So our power went out for a good hour. Cody and I were upstairs when it happend to go out. Now I'm also very thankful for cell phones. We used our cell phones to look for our flashlights. I had NO clue where I put them when we moved here. So We found it and I brought out the candles. I am just sooo happy that I have a lot of candles. I was happy to put them to use while our power was out..

I tried something new!

Ok so Cody has been wanting to go to this restaurant here in town called the Indian Oven. I kept dragging my feet on wanting to go hoping he would give up on wanting to go but that didn't happen at all. So if you really know me you may know I really don't like trying new foods at all. It only took Krysten a year for me to try Thai food and I did like it. So I told Cody he made history he got me to try Indian food today. And I must admit it wasn't all that bad. So heres to trying something new!!

So today I'm feeling a bit old its my nieces 16th birthday. I like the fact i'm a some what younger aunt but holy cow i'm feeling old today. It feels like it was just yesterday she was born and I was going to the hospital for the first time to see her. From there on she was my little pal. I was the first one to babysit her. My mom and sister have always said shes more like a little sister then a niece. I'm soo happy I got to spend a week with them a few weeks ago. She has turned into an awesome young lady. Now Washington drivers watch out cause shes getting her license soon. I'm sure she will be a great driver but oh my gosh I'm so not ready for my niece to be 16. Where has my little Kourtney gone. Girls Weekend!

I know i'm a little tad late posting this but its better late then never. I have to say I had a great time visiting with my Mom, my sister Susan and my 2 nieces Kourtney and Sierra. It had been a year since I had seen my sister and nieces. It was great being able to catch up. So friday the 8th we headed to Salt Lake City for the weekend. When we first got there we went on a tour of the Conference Center. It was my sisters and my nieces first time there. We had the best tour guide ever. At the end of the tour we were able to sit and listen to the Organ Recital. It was amazing being able to sit and listen for a few minutes. After the conference center we headed to the Church History Museum. That has to be one of my favorite Museums ever. My favorite part has to be about all the Prophets. They have personal belongings from each of the prophets. Its nice being able to see and read about each of them. SO after we finished with all that it was off to Temple Square, we walked around for a little while then ended up at Joseph Smith Memorial Building where we went and watched The Joseph Smith film. It was my 3rd time seeing and I loved seeing it again. I remember when I went last October with my parents I told them after the movie that I was extremely greatful that I was lucky enough to be brought up in the church. So friday was a pretty busy day, we headed for dinner then it was back to the hotel to kick back and relax. Saturday my mom and sister did a session at the salt lake temple. I was able to spend time with my nieces, we walked around Temple Square and toured each of the visitors centers. Then after that we went down to Toole, they have the best beef jerky there so we had to stop and get some. We drove up to This is the place monument but we got there too late to walk around. So we just walked around the monument. As we were driving back my mom noticed that she was having some car troubles. So we stopped off at a car dealer ship and they sent us off to another place. So what was suppost to be a short vacation turned into another few days. I was greatful to have more time with my mom and sister and my 2 nieces. I don't get to see them all that much so it was nice having extra time with them. Even tho the week they were here I had to work but I was able to have lunch with them and Kourtney was able to spend time with a friend of hers back home that was down here in Utah. I just have to say I love my family and I wish I could see them a lot more. I hope you guys enjoy the pics from Temple Square. I Hope I have more updates in the future with more family!!!

Say Cheese

Ok I know its a cheesy title but hey when you look at cheese all day its all I could think of. I am proud to say I survived my first month at Schriebers and I LOVE IT. I'm having a great time learning new things. Some things can be a bit challenging but I am really liking my job. Its taken me a long time to find a job that I really truly like. At first when I got the job I really didn't know what to think but the more i'm there more the I like it. The place I've been working lately is "Casting" its 5lb stacks of cheese. We do the cheese for McDonalds and so on. Cody first told me that was the pit of Schriebers. Who knew I would like the pit hole of the plant. I like the people i've been working with. I work with a bunch of guys and its great. They like to joke around which is awesome. I think they have learned that I will give crap back to them so its been so much fun working with them. I actually like going to work. I love the fact I get to learn new things all the time.

I Survived One Year In Utah

SO it was a year ago today that Cody and I moved to Logan, Utah. I never really thought I would survive a year here. I am proud to say that I survived just fine. Its been a learning and growing experience living away from my family. I always did a lot with my family. I would spend holidays with them or just go hang out. I had it pretty easy all my family was about less then 15 minutes away so I saw them a lot. I saw both sisters every sunday at church. Yes all 3 of us were in the same ward. I loved it, I saw my 3 nieces every sunday. Now I miss seeing them all the time. I have to say what I miss most is spending holidays with my family. 4th of July has always been my favorite holiday. It meant going to Grandma's house for a BBQ and home made ice cream and later in the evening fire works. Yesterday I kept that tradition going, we BBQ'd and I made home made Ice Cream. We didn't do fireworks but it meant a lot to me to have the home made ice cream. Just because i'm not living in Washington doesn't mean I can't keep my family traditions going strong. I am happy we moved to Utah. So heres to One year in Logan, Utah and who knows how many more!!!

3 Years Ago Today

So it was 3 years ago today that Cody and I got married. I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. It seems just like yesterday we were married and he was heading off to Iraq. I am so extremely blessed that Cody and I found each other. It wasn't your typical way of finding someone but it worked out. I know we were meant to be together. I am so thankful for him and the things he does for me. We haven't been able to celebrate on our anniversary yet. Our first anniversary he was in Iraq so I went to the Ocean with my parents for the weekend. Our 2nd anniversary we were clearing out of our old apartment because we were headed off to Utah. And today we have to work, I've been working the day shift and hes been working swing shift. So we will be able to celebrate on saturday which marks another Anniversary for us. It will be one year that we have lived in Utah. WOW how the time passes by. I added some pictures from our wedding to share. I hope you all enjoy

Lincoln High School
So its been 10 years this month that I graduated from High School. I've been thinking about this the last few days. I can't believe that its been 10 years and my reunion is next month. I will be unable to go due to it being back home in Washington. I am very proud that I went to Lincoln. I was the last of 5 kids to graduate from there. I guess I kinda had it a little easy the teachers knew my older siblings and yes they loved my sisters. I remember a few times in class I got called Shawna or Susan then I had to remind the teacher how long ago my sisters had graduated. One graduated in 87 and the other in 89. Also my grandpa graduated from Lincoln back in 1924, I never knew my grandpa because he past away when i was 7 months old. The one thing I loved about Lincoln is they had pictures of past graduates on the walls. So every day as I walked into one of my classes I would see my grandpa's picture. There was so much history behind Lincoln. My favorite class was newspaper, I had so much fun in that class. My friend and I did an article of the history of Lincoln. As we read old newspapers we found out that Elvis had performed in the bowl. (For those of you don't know the bowl is the football field and yes it does look like a bowl). So I am very great full for all the experiences I had while at Lincoln. I am bummed that I won't be able to make it to my reunion but I have all the best memories in the world. And yes I am one proud Lincoln Abe!

This is a pic of the clock Tower.

Pet Peeves

I have to say my biggest pet peeve since moving here to Utah has been stupid idiots not wearing a helmet while riding their motorcycle. I was shocked to learn that Utah has a no helmet law I grew up in Washington where you had to wear a helmet. You can ask Cody and he will tell you that it irritates me to no end to see people riding around with NO helmet. I grew up around motorcycles my dad had one and even before we could go on a ride with him we had to put on long pants a jacket and last but not least our helmet. I always want to roll down my window and yell at these idiots. I think Utah is stupid for having a NO helmet law. I sit in my front room and I hear more people speeding down the street on their crotch rockets and of course NO helmet. I'm not saying everyone is stupid but come on wear a dang helmet. This is Utah and they don't have the smartest of drivers. I've seen cars cut off motorcycles and it irritates me. The last thing I want to see is an accident with someone not wearing a helmet.

What A Great Weekend!

After a great first work week for me, Cody and I had the whole weekend off together. As many of you know Cody has been working pretty much 7 days a week. Well he actually had this weekend off. So I told him that he and I could go on a date. When my brother and sister in law and their kids and my older sister and niece came to visit last month. On our way to Salt Lake I had told them I Had never gone to Chiles. That day came and went and the next day my sister and I stayed here at the house while my brother and sister in law gassed up the car and ran some errands. My brother comes back to me with this To GO Box and said you left this in my car. I was thinking I didn't leave anything in the car yesterday. So I opened it and there was a gift card to Chiles and movie tickets for Cody and I. SO We were able to enjoy ourselves and go on a date together. We had a great lunch and we went and saw the Hulk. That was a great movie. I just want to thank my brother and my sister in law and my sister for that little treat for Cody and I we really appreciated it. I just have to say I am so great full for my family and everything they do for me. I love them and miss them lots!!!!

I survived my first day of working

So today was my first day actually working. Yesterday was orientation and today was training. They have me in the singles department. It wasn't all that bad but i'm not used to standing on my feet all day especially in steel toed shoes. It was nice we rotate every 30 minutes to a different work station so its a nice variety rather then doing ONE thing for 8 hours. Right now I can't stand the sight of nasty American Cheese. Its the hot dog of cheeses and doesn't smell all the pretty. So I get to look at lovely American Cheese for the next 2 weeks. And I have to tell ya my hair looks like crap after wearing a hair net and hard hat all day. I'm going to go relax and then go get my hair cut. Wearing that hard hat all day has convinced me I need to go a little shorter.

Started My New Job!!!

So I started my new job today. I'll be working at Schreibers along with Cody. For those of you who don't know what the heck Schreibers is its a cheese plant here in Logan. Cody has worked there since September of last year. He also worked there before before he went in the Army. So here I am starting a new type of job that i've never done before. I've always done the whole call center thing but I realized with my last job that I hated call centers and will never ever go back to one. I am excited for tomorrow to come. I'll be training for 2 weeks in "Singles" the next time you buy your American Cheese just think I could of helped make that cheese. They do all sorts of brands. I'm excited to finally be on with a great company. I hope i'll be working here for a while, well that is my plan anyways. I won't get to see Cody much the next few weeks i'll be working the day shift and he will be working the swing shift. I'll be giving more updates on how life is at Schreibers Foods.

Finally took our honeymoon

As many of you know Cody and I never got to take a honeymoon after we got married. So here we are almost 3 years now taking our honeymoon. We went to Disneyland and California Adventure. We spent a few days at each park. While in California we had dinner with a friend of Cody's. They were in the Army together so I was pretty excited to finally meet him after being able to talk to him for 3 years. We went to Outback for dinner and we stayed there for over 3 hours. Tuesday we started the day out by going to Disneyland. Now every time I go to Disneyland I like to go on Pirates but that ride was closed for a little so we went on the Indiana Jones ride which Cody had never been on. We spent all wednesday at California Adventure now that was a lot of fun. I now have a new favorite ride Tower of Terror. I would recommend that ride to anyone. So after California we headed off to Arizona to see Cody's friend from his mission. We were there for a few days. It was nice to meet his friends. They have two beautiful little girls who I miss already. Their 2 1/2 year old was just so sweet and nice. Cody's name became Bob so it was just a lot of fun. I have to say this was the best vacation I have ever been on. I hope you all enjoy the pictures!!

New to blogging!!

Why yes I have entered the blogging world. I figured since most everyone that I know was blogging I should do it as well. Not everyone in my family has Myspace or Facebook this way they can enjoy the updated in mine and Cody's lives. I will try to updated this as much as possible. I hope you all enjoy my lovely updates.
